I made a conjoined comic universe of around 300 original characters. Full of adorable little watcha-ma-call-its, robots, super heroes, super scientists, and much more.

Re-asembling Toy Block Jungle

Posted by thepixelizer - 1 day ago

Heyo!... PiXeL here!

I lost a lot of files, so I'm starting over again,( thus is the price of chasing perfection, starting over again, I don't wanna to fall into that trap again)

Since the Tribal Guys comic has always been a fan favorite (and my own too ) I've decided to I'd like to start there. The Tribal Guys live in The Toy Block Jungle. As the name suggests it's an island made of plastic building blocks.

Here are some old renders I've made for it in the past.

The first model Toy Block Jungle Island 3D model was incomplete and only featured the Tribal Guy's Village, the volcano, Hungry Guy's tent, Oh No! Gal's Castle, and the lake. Other than that the rest of the island was blank or just covered in trees. So I decided to finally come up with a map to make it less of a guessing game.

Here's what I've made so far, it's still incomplete.

After a lot of experimenting and toggling shaders I finally came up with something to show here's a preview of the lake.

I still have stuff to add like plants and foliage but it's looking good so far!

Since my technique has improved I can't help but advance the Guys and Gal's models too!

This is Hunter Guy the main character.

I've update his textures. And now leaf skirt can actually bend, unlike before, and it's not all blocky looking anymore.

I also decided to make his leaf skirt out of plastic to fit his setting more.

His head feather looks fluffy now to boot!

And now you can actually tell he's wearing a sweat band now.

TRIBAL GUYS HISTORY

Tribal Guys was originally inspired by a monster from Super Mario Yoshi's Island's named Spear Guy. Which Nintendo can't decide to cancel or keep.

If you want to go even deeper down the lore hole, The Tribal Guys were side characters from my first ever web comic named the Adventures of Super Koopa Troopa and Friends that I made that forever ago, and lost the files to.

I liked the dynamics between the main three characters Hungry Guy, Chef Bruce Guy, and Hunter Guy so much that I later redesigned their entire tribe and reintroduced them in my deleted Platformer Pests comic series, and added them into Parkour World and gave them their very own island.

Parkour World is the planet of the Platformer Pests and is shared universe for most of my scrapped unfinished game concepts, video game themed characters, and comics relating to video games.

I could go on for hours of all the quirky design choices I made for each Gal and Guy, but I think that's enough for now.

I can't wait to see where this idea goes!

PiXeL out!
