One time I fell asleep on the bus. Since I was lying on two chairs I was too low for the driver to even see me, at some point I woke up and just waited to see what would happen.

Eventually I ended up in the bus lot.

They were kind enough to drive me to school once I revealed myself before the driver almost locked the bus with me still in it.

This really needed a script. The jokes fell flat, mostly because they were all punchlines without a set up. The set up is usually there to give you the audience expectation of whats next, then there's a pause then the punchline, the punchline has to be something surprising that you wouldn't expect after hearing the set up.

It's really hard to throw out random words and be funny.

As for the animation it was pretty much a slide show, I would explain easing in and out and the basics of animation but you can simply look it up yourself there are tutorials all over Youtube and search engines if you look.

Try to separate words and speak from the diaphragm not the nose unless you want to sound like a guy from an old school radio program or sound nasal on purpose.

Speaking from the lungs also helps you talk louder so you don’t have edit the audio volume as much.

You got to also listen to your recordings for error.

I remember when I did my third cartoon I had to adjust my accent to make the character sound more accurate.

And trust me we all have accents. There’s even an American accent we all pronounce the letter T like D like butter is “budder.”
And latter is “ladder.” Just to name one.

It’s eer looking pretty uhhh… I don’t know like Doom or Paper Mario.

Usually 2d on 3d both elements have to blend pretty well not to be jarring Treasure Planet and Atlantis are prime examples I’d highly suggest giving those a look for reference.

You’d probably have to put colored lights and shadows on Tempo in order for him to blend in more and give him a more cell shaded look.

Without that he just looks like a sheet of paper that’s been superimposed there.

It would be pretty awesome to see a cell shaded 3d model Tempo though.

It’s way easier to make a toon shader than do realistic textures in Blender.

3D animation in blender is a pain to be frank.

In the version I used there were all sorts of bugs in the shape keys after rendering like the character rotating in a super naturally slow pace even though I added no frame to even do that.

As can be seen in my second ever animated short Shuttle Gougemon … (extremely long title)

And you have to have a pc that’s not a potato or scrubbing the time line is impossible for a minute long short.

Thanks for the feedback! My initial plan was to keep the 3-D environments low poly, and have them be inspired by sixth generation video games (PlayStation 2, GameCube, etc.) But that may look a bit jarring/might be too much of a contrast. I’ll look into Treasure Planet and Atlantis. I’ll also take a look at that short of yours 👍

Ha! The redneck with a harpoon really got me cracking up, hilarious stuff as always.

That was absolutely hilarious!
The animation was kind of awkward and stiff though.

But the concept and voice acting is what made this fun to watch.

It was charming, It was hard tell who was talking since all of them had no mouths.

One way that the ClockCrew gets around that is to make a little wiggling arrow appear over their speakers head for emphasis.

Another way is to add a text box with the name of the character and a portrait in the foreground.

I love the zooming camera effect and different camera angles, it kept it from being too static, and made it more cinematic.

I wouldn’t suggest using Windows movie maker for animations though. It’s not really made for that, believe me I’ve tried too.

There are a handful of free animation softwares out there like Opentoonz, Blender, Wick Editor, and Flipaclip. They all have plenty of tutorials on Youtube to learn them all.

I’d also use more pastels or less saturated colors for the backgrounds as well, looking at a bright neon yellow screen can be hard on the eyes.

I can see you put a lot of effort into this due to the length, that alone is pretty special on here. It’s a pass in my book, good job!

I kinda like using FlipaClip better, since I can actually make animations with it.
Edit: YAY! MY VIDEO IS STILL ON AFTER YESTERDAY!
Edit 2: I hate my Ukraine voice in this video. It didn't even sound like my girlfriend.
Edit 3: I promise to put more camera angles to make the video more cinematic and some subtitles so you can understand who's talking.

The voice acting in this keeps me replaying this. It’s hilarious.

It’s too static, it needs more animation, usually people fidget or look around when stationary.
Imagine how hard it is to completely not move a single muscle in your body for a long time.

That’s why video game characters have a stance it makes them look less like an inanimate object.

I also know there’s no voice acting but even a little mouth movement is better than none even if it’s just muppet like flapping.

It would also be good practice to work up toward lip syncing in the future.

It may sound daunting but lip syncing is way easier than you think in fact it’s easier than regular body movement.

There are also hoards of bored voice actors on this site that would work for free as well, all you need to do is post on the forums or in the help wanted section.

But that's time consuming, and idk about lyp-synching, becuase it has to be on time. Also, I am trying to add more animations to the body. The only way to actuslly lip synch them is to extract phonemes, but they probably don't work.
